Our Specialities

Foxes Solicitors are Authorised and Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority No. 541701

We cover all aspects of criminal law and are able to meet you at the police station in the event that you have been arrested. Areas of criminal law we cover include:

Investigations

At Foxes Solicitors, we understand that being arrested is a very difficult experience for anyone. Having first-class legal representation at the earliest opportunity following arrest can be crucial to the outcome of a case. We have lawyers available twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week. It is essential to have professional representation in a police station, to advise on whether to answer police questions or not, to make representations to the police regarding bail and to ensure that clients are treated fairly under the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

Drugs and Money Laundering

Foxes Solicitors have a long history of successfully defending large scale supply and importation of drugs cases. Our experienced staff will provide advice and representation at the police station, Magistrates Court and Crown Court. The police have draconian powers in relation to cash seizure and money laundering offences. Lisa French has tremendous experience in this field and has specialised in this technical area of law for many years. She will guide clients through this process and has a strong track record of achieving favourable outcomes for her clients.

Youth Crime

We are experts at looking after young people accused of criminal matters. Representing young people in the Youth Court is very different from the adult courts, and we always ensure that the interests of the young people we represent are protected from arrest through the life of the case.

Sexual Offences

We specialise in representing clients charged with sexual offences. These offences more than any other can have a devastating impact on clients. Over the years since the introduction of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, there has been a large increase in the number of sexual offences prosecuted. Defending these offences is different from general crime and requires specialist skills. Obtaining disclosure of ‘unused material’ can be crucial to examine the way the police have investigated the case and the credibility of the prosecution witnesses.

Knife Crime and Offensive Weapons

With the recent rise in knife crime and the increase in sentencing in this area, it is important for clients to be fully advised of the law in this area. Different considerations apply to possession of offensive weapons and bladed articles and the defences available. Each case and set of circumstances is different, and we advise clients regularly in relation to these matters. We have been able to secure non-custodial sentences, even for second time offenders.

Road Traffic Offences

Losing your driving licence can have disastrous consequences. We will fight hard to explore all possibilities to try to keep clients driving licences. From drink and drug driving to the myriad of other traffic code violations, we explore all avenues to obtain the best results possible for our clients. As some of the less serious road traffic matters are not eligible for legal aid, we can accept instructions from clients on a private fixed fee basis.

Fees for privately funded road traffic matters

Our fixed fees are agreed at the beginning of your case when we know what work it entails. We will then not ask for any additional funding for work we do. We will speak to you at the start of your case before we do any work, but typical fees (exclusive of VAT at 20%) will be as follows:

Trials: £1000

Please note that if an expert report is required, you will be responsible for payment of their fees prior to instructing them. These could include experts on crash investigations, or medical reports regarding blood or drug concentrations in the blood. All our staff take instructions in relation to road traffic matters.

Guilty Pleas: £500

Please be advised fees are payable in advance unless we have confirmed in writing that we are happy to commence without full payment.
